Herb Binder

Previously, Mr. Binder was the President and Chief Operations Officer of Shoppers Drug Mart, Canada's largest retail drugstore chain.
When he retired in December 2000, the company comprised over 820 stores and generated sales in excess of $4 billion.
Mr. Binder joined the corporate offices after being an Associate Pharmacist-Owner at the Shoppers Drug Mart in Toronto's Yorkdale Mall.
When he joined central office in 1981, he was appointed Vice President Operations, Ontario Region.
In 1984 he was appointed Executive Vice President Operations, responsible for operational issues throughout Canada.
At the time of his appointment as President and Chief Operations Officer in 1989, the company operated approximately 520 stores and recorded sales of approximately $2.7 billion.
Through the leadership of Mr. Binder and David Bloom, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, the company grew and expanded.
