Frank W. Schlier

Mr. Schlier is a vice president and distinguished analyst in Gartner Research, where he is part of the Research and Advisory unit.
Mr. Schlier's areas of research include application architecture in financial services, business and information technology, strategic planning in financial services and "the financial institution of the future." Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Schlier was president and CEO of WhiteWater Information Technologies, a software product development and marketing company serving the financial services industry.
He has spent a good portion of his career as a CIO and has served on the boards of directors for four technology companies.
Mr. Schlier earned a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in banking finance and accounting, and a master's degree in business administration with a concentration in corporate finance from the University of Georgia.
He is also a graduate of the U.S.
Navy's nuclear engineering school at Union College and its computer science curriculum at Stanford.
