The firm is a division of Capital Research & Management Co. (CR&M), the original company of the Capital Group Companies, which was founded in 1931 by Jonathan Bell Lovelace. In 2008, CR&M disaggregated their equity investment operations to become known as Capital Research Global Investors and Capital World Investors.
