Anton Wienand

Mr. Anton Wienand is a Portfolio Manager at Polar Star Management (Pty) Ltd.
He joined Polar Star Management in September 2018 and has over 18 years commodity experience within global commodity merchants and fund management.
Mr. Wienand joined Louis Dreyfus Commodities (LDC) in 2000.
Being located in the US, Switzerland and South Africa during the 13 years with LDC, he headed trading desks covering various global agricultural commodities, where he was responsible for trading decisions, risk management and investment strategies.
In 2013, he took up the role as head of the Exchange Traded Commodities business within the ETG Group until July 2018.
He oversaw the trading and risk management of the global exchange traded business and was tasked to grow ETG Group activities from a regional player in Africa to a global agribusiness trading company.
He was Portfolio Manager on the Barak Shanta Commodity Fund from March 2014 to February 2018, where he implemented trading strategies and risk management.
He obtained a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Natal.
