Ali Liaqat is the Chief Strategy Officer at Carta where he is responsible for the Company’s growth strategy.
He oversees the Strategy and Business Operations, Corporate Development and Strategic Partnerships functions.
In his role as Chief Strategy Officer, Ali has led multiple acquisitions, built out Carta’s venture program, expanded Carta’s international reach, and incubated new business lines.
In his time at Carta, Ali has helped scale the company from a Series C to a Series G company with a valuation of $7.4 billion.
Before joining Carta, Ali was part of McKinsey & Company’s Silicon Valley Office where he advised technology companies on topics spanning corporate strategy, product development, operational transformations, GTM strategy, and M&A planning and execution.
Prior to McKinsey, Ali was an early member of the Corporate Development team at Salesforce.com where he helped scale the M&A, post-merger integration, and Salesforce Ventures programs.
He started out his career in Technology Investment Banking at Barclays Capital and Lehman Brothers.
Ali holds an MBA from Harvard Business School and a Bachelor of Arts (Economics) from Stanford University.
