CarbonCo Ltd. was founded in 2020 with a mission to use Artificial Intelligence to help landholders pull a billion tonnes of CO2 out of the atmosphere and lock it up into trees. The company is based in Nelson, New Zealand. The New Zealander company's main focus is on helping landowners make the most of their forests by using CarbonCrop, an AI-based mapping and measurement tool that precisely assesses carbon sequestration and issues carbon offsets for native forests. CarbonCrop helps landowners get more of their forest recognized for carbon credits, including Native CarbonCrop Units, which are not recognized by the Emissions Trading Scheme.
