Dr. Alexander S.
Kritikos is a Head of the Entrepreneurship Research Group at The German Institute for Economic Research.
He is Research Director for Entrepreneurship Research at the German Institute for Economic Research (DIW Berlin), where he was before Head of the Department ‘Innovation, Manufacturing, Service' since 2008 and Vice-President since 2010.
He was appointed as a Full Professor for Industrial and Institutional Economics at the University of Potsdam, as well as a Research Fellow of the Institute for the Study of Labor, Bonn, and the Institute for Employment Research, Nuremberg.
He is a member of the Social Sciences Committee and of the Economic Policy Committee of the German Economic Association.
Since 2010 he is the editor of Small Business Economics.
He was a Research Fellow of the German Marshall Fund in Washington (1999) and an EU-TMR Research Fellow at Athens University of Economics (2000).
He studied economics and political sciences at the University of Munich, where he received 1989 his degree as Diplom-Volkswirt.
After a scholarship at the postgraduate program for Applied Microeconomics' of the Free University of Berlin, he received his doctoral degree in Economics at the Humboldt-University of Berlin in 1996 and his habitation in Economics at the European University Viadrina in 2003.
