Profile
1993, Skip launched Rydex with the Nova Fund, the first leveraged index fund available to the public.
After assessing the needs of financial professionals and sophisticated investors, he formed the company to provide them with groundbreaking investment solutions.
Shortly after Nova's inception, Rydex introduced the Ursa Fund - the industry's first inverse (or "short") fund.
Rydex has distinguished itself as an industry pioneer and now includes 14 index-based funds, 17 sector funds and a government money market fund.
Skip has continued to lead Rydex into new investment territory.
In 2001 Investment News named him one of the industry's "power elite," a testimony to Skip's innovation.
Prior to creating Rydex, Skip worked at the Rushmore Funds for eight years as the Director of Institutional Sales and Marketing.
Skip was responsible for the development of the Rushmore Nova Fund, which later became the foundation for the Rydex Funds.
Before joining Rushmore, Skip was with Illinois Tool Works and Monsanto in a sales and marketing capacity.
He is a graduate of Spring Hill College in Alabama.
