HOUSTON, May 7 (Reuters) - BP is considering a financial greenlight decision for its Tiber offshore oil project in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, an executive said on Tuesday at an offshore energy conference.

The company's U.S. Gulf of Mexico output last year averaged 300,000 barrels of oil and gas per day and it is targeting 400,000 barrels per day by 2030, Andy Krieger, BP's senior vice president of its Gulf of Mexico and Canada business, said at the Offshore Technology Conference.
