Airbus announced on Tuesday that it had delivered and sold more aircraft in April than in the same month last year, confirming the favorable commercial dynamic currently being experienced by the aircraft manufacturer.

The European group reported this morning that 61 aircraft were delivered to 33 customers over the past month, compared with 54 units delivered to 32 customers a year earlier.

This figure corresponds to a year-on-year increase of around 13%.

Over the first four months of the year, Airbus says it has so far recorded 203 deliveries, compared with 181 over the same period in 2013, an increase of over 12%.

In terms of contracts, the aircraft manufacturer says it counted 57 gross orders in April, up sharply on the five gross orders recorded a year earlier.

Airbus has set itself the target of delivering some 800 commercial aircraft this year, compared with 735 last year, and is counting on a pick-up in activity from the second half onwards.

Following this announcement, the share price advanced by 0.7%, slightly outperforming a CAC 40 index up by 0.6%.
