A full summary of the heatmap resulting from the responses received is included with this report.

In 2023, Tamarack entered into agreements with 12 First Nation and Metis communities (the "Indigenous Communities") to create the Clearwater Infrastructure Limited Partnership (the "CIP"). As part of this transaction the Indigenous Communities acquired an 85% non-operated working interest in the CIP, to which Tamarack transferred $172MM of Clearwater midstream infrastructure assets in exchange for $146.2MM and the remaining 15% operated working interest. This transaction aligns our long-term relationships with the Indigenous Communities while also supporting our emissions reduction initiatives. The infrastructure vended into the CIP will contribute to long-term carbon abatement driving improved environmental and

Tamarack recognizes the importance of our staff and acknowledges that our ability to successfully execute our long-term plan is driven by the ongoing commitment and contributions made by every Tamarack team member. The 2024 Sustainability Report, which reflects our 2023 performance, marks the fifth consecutive year Tamarack Valley Energy Ltd. ("Tamarack" or the "Company") has delivered this document to our stakeholders as a means of providing insight to both our quantitative and qualitative ESG goals and accomplishments. This represents a milestone in our commitment to a sustainable business model focused on generating long-term total returns for shareholders within the context of our commitment to responsible ESG principles and progress on key performance indicators.

Tamarack's business model has materially transformed over the past three years. The Company is now focused solely on the development of our highly economic Clearwater and Charlie Lake

inventory which is complemented by the application of EOR to certain amenable assets. The Company's asset base is highlighted by an estimated 8.7 billion barrels of original oil in place across the Clearwater and a drilling inventory in the prolific Charlie Lake play that exceeds 10 years. Establishing scale and longevity affords for improved capacity to invest in projects and technology that optimize the efficiency of our operations, enhance our resiliency and reduce the overall footprint of our business model.

Within this report we include the results from our most recent Materiality Assessment, which serves to inform the areas of focus we reference and address within this Sustainability Report. The Materiality Assessment indicated strong alignment between internal stakeholders, comprised of Tamarack's

economic performance for Tamarack, while at the same time providing long term economic benefits to all the participating Indigenous Communities.

Tamarack is proud to have amassed large contiguous positions in two of North America's most economic conventional oil plays. Based on the performance of our assets in 2023 and the successful disposition of certain non-core holdings net debt was reduced by $373MM, improving the strength of our balance sheet. On the back of our strong financial performance Tamarack achieved the first debt threshold of its return of capital framework which allowed us to accelerate enhanced returns to shareholders with share buybacks commencing in January 2024.

SUSTAINABILITY PROGRAM

Sustainability encompasses minimizing our operational footprint, enabling long term reduction of our emissions intensity, ensuring efficiency in our development program to underpin our business resiliency, and doing so in an ethical and responsible manner. The success of Tamarack's sustainability program is premised on the continued strong performance of our operations where our ESG goals and financial results are key drivers. As part of the program diligence, Tamarack has the data relating to our ARO, emissions and Indigenous workforce representation independently assured by a third-party auditor. A copy of the signed Assurance Letter is included as part of this report.

Within this report we will reference the frameworks that Tamarack aligns with, including:

  • GRI (Global Reporting Initiative)
  • SASB (Sustainability Accounting Standards Board)
  • TCFD (Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosure)
  • UN SDGs (United Nations Sustainable Development Goals)

Tamarack's sustainability program sits on the foundation of our underlying beliefs that concrete and observable actions drive measurable results. We are excited to be able to demonstrate our achievements to date and provide insights with respect to current initiatives and details outlining our future priorities.

EMISSIONS MANAGEMENT

Emissions management prioritizes Tamarack's commitment to reducing our GHG emissions intensity and enhancing our carbon abatement capabilities. Actions taken in this area also provide benefit to other areas of our ESG program serving to improve safety performance and increase overall program performance reliability. The Company's emission management program is aligned with the SASB disclosure topics of greenhouse gas emissions and air quality.

WATER MANAGEMENT

Water management includes the increased use of recycled water, reduction in freshwater usage and preservation of freshwater sources where we operate. This topic area is aligned with the SASB disclosure topic of water management.

LAND & BIODIVERSITY PRESERVATION

Land and biodiversity preservation includes the priority topic of asset retirement and land reclamation as well as the significant topics of ecosystem and biodiversity management and product leaks and spills. Success of our preservation program is inherently linked to our stakeholder engagement efforts as we seek to work hand in hand with community members, respecting Indigenous knowledge of the surrounding ecosystem. Our land and biodiversity disclosure includes information from the SASB topics of biodiversity impacts and critical incident risk management.

STAKEHOLDER ENGAGEMENT

Stakeholder engagement includes the topics of Indigenous and community engagement which have been ongoing areas of focus for Tamarack as we seek to foster strong, long-term working relationships. It aligns with the SASB disclosure topics of security, human rights and the rights of Indigenous peoples as well as community relations.

ETHICAL GOVERNANCE

Tamarack demonstrates ethical governance through our corporate values, policies, processes in place and culture of safety and community engagement to ensure we execute on our strategic business plan to the benefit of all our stakeholders. To ensure we are aligned with the SASB disclosure topics Tamarack reports on, and provides commentary as it relates to, workforce health and safety, business ethics and transparency through our reporting.

Sustainability touches every corner of our organization. The Environment, Safety, and Sustainability committee is tasked with oversight of sustainability through its mandate and reports up to the Board of Directors at least once each quarter. In addition, all committees, including the Audit Committee, Reserves Committee, Compensation and Governance Committee and the internal Joint Health and Safety Committee are engaged at some level in the oversight and integration of sustainability within our business model. This ensures the resilience of our business is built on a solid foundation of purposeful financial decisions, field operation execution, employee and contractor engagement and overall stakeholder support.

ACQUISITION & DIVESTITURE ("A&D") ACTIVITY REFLECTED IN REPORTING

Tamarack was extremely active through 2022 and 2023, executing multiple A&D transactions which resulted in the transformation to a highly focused Clearwater and Charlie Lake oil weighted asset base. As a result, historical data will reflect a different mix of assets. This is particularly notable as it relates to data associated with production and emissions. Ongoing investment and efficiency gains in the Clearwater, which remains an emerging play, are under way and expected to improve emission intensity performance going forward.

As a consolidator Tamarack has demonstrated the ability to implement emissions abatement and carbon reduction solutions that were not economically viable for the prior owners and operators of the acquired assets. This capacity, supported by the scale

of our overall asset base, is driving positive results overall for emissions intensity, most notably in the Clearwater, as we move through 2024 and into 2025.

ABOUT TAMARACK

OPERATING WITH INTEGRITY

ENVIRONMENTAL STEWARDSHIP

To ensure alignment of priorities between internal and external stakeholders, Tamarack conducted a materiality assessment in the first quarter of 2024. This builds on the prior assessment which was initially included in our 2020 Sustainability Report. Materiality is a concept that defines why and how certain issues or information are deemed as high priority for a company. Tamarack utilizes the materiality assessment processes to identify alignment between internal stakeholders, being the Board of Directors and management team, and external stakeholders including, but not limited to, shareholders, employees, contractors, vendors, lenders, Indigenous community members and other community members. At its core, materiality is an accounting principle that defines which information is useful in the decision-making process.

The Materiality Assessment was conducted as part of our ongoing review of risks and opportunities. Based on key ESG factors the data is utilized to evaluate the perceived degree of importance and impact to how Tamarack conducts its business.

Guided by the GRI recommendations for materiality assessments, Tamarack solicited input from internal and external stakeholders to generate a heatmap of alignment on the key ESG factors. Tamarack also referenced the key risk areas identified by the SASB framework.

Results of the assessment survey determined seven topics of high priority and seven topics of moderate concern in addition to six topics which were categorized as topics to be monitored, which are individually illustrated in the heatmap plot on this page. The significant topics are subsequently grouped into six main areas which are addressed within this report. These primary focus areas are discussed throughout this report. The topic areas to be monitored may be discussed in conjunction with other topics and will continue to be reviewed and managed internally.

SHAPING THE FUTURE OF ENERGY: QUALIFICATIONS, TRAINING AND COMPETENCE

Investing in our people is an important way Tamarack demonstrates its social value in health and safety. Building health and safety leaders today has a long-lasting impact on our business systems as the benefits compound year over year. Personal investments in our team through professional development, training, competency verification, hands-on learning, and mentorship create intrinsic value.

Tamarack's health and safety management system has a progressive training program that evaluates each business unit and its needs. The training matrix guides the analysis of each position and its respective appropriate qualifications, training, and competency requirements. Personnel undergo vigorous training and competency verification to ensure they have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to contribute to organizational excellence.

VENDOR MANAGEMENT & ENGAGEMENT

Tamarack strives to ensure safe operations both in the field and at the office by actively engaging with employees, contractors and service providers working at our sites.

We pride ourselves on aligning with vendors who share social and ethical values in health and safety. At Tamarack, vendor selection begins with documentation compliance to ensure Tamarack standards are met through a contractor management platform. Vendors are expected to have a certificate of recognition indicating their dedication and commitment to health and safety in the workplace. Additionally, Tamarack has implemented a Corporate Vendor Evaluation that takes an in-depth review of each vendor's health and safety program to ensure the most stringent and highest health and safety standards are implemented while working on Tamarack worksites. We believe that positive collaboration with our Vendors creates safe working environments.

INSPECTIONS

Inspections are essential in Tamarack's due diligence toward occupational health and safety compliance. The health and safety inspection program at Tamarack is well-balanced throughout the organization, encompassing both capital and production operations. Health and safety inspection targets are set and executed annually throughout all business areas. These proactive inspections create safer working environments and continuous improvement of our assets and our people.

HAZARD ASSESSMENT AND CONTROL

The Company encourages a proactive approach to risk management through hazard identification and recognition of potential deficiencies to enable prevention over response.

At Tamarack, proper hazard assessment and control are the key to keeping our worksites safe. Tamarack has implemented foundational hazard assessment processes that inventory hazards per occupation, providing valuable insight into risk exposure within our business operations. With risk understood, Tamarack applies hazard control measures using the hierarchy of control. Hazard assessment and control is an ongoing and daily process utilized to coach and mentor our workforce. Tamarack has an active Hazard ID reporting process, which promotes hazard reporting and corrective action. These Hazard IDs are shared throughout the business as positive leading indicators to promote awareness and incident prevention.

VIOLENCE & HARASSMENT PREVENTION

Tamarack supports a workplace free from violence and harassment. Tamarack's workforce is required to abide by our internal Respectful Workplace policy to ensure we foster a safe and inclusive workplace and treat our vendors with respect while working on our worksites. Tamarack is committed to supporting a respectful workplace and will take all reasonable actions to eliminate violence or harassment on our worksites. We provide a third-party reporting line to our workforce and vendors to ensure everyone has a confidential and anonymous point of contact they can reach out to.

WORKER'S RIGHTS AND OBLIGATIONS

Tamarack supports the occupational health and safety rights of every worker. Workers have three basic rights and obligations while working on Tamarack worksites: the right to know, the right to participate, and the right to refuse unsafe work.

Tamarack supports that workers have the right/obligation to know about the hazards presented by people, equipment, materials, the environment, and processes that they may be exposed to. Everyone has the right and obligation to participate in health and safety in the workplace. We encourage people to ask questions about hazards, report unsafe conditions, and engage in hazard assessment and control. Finally, everyone has the right and obligation to refuse unsafe work. Tamarack will investigate all work refusals and take action to ensure work is safely conducted.

SUSTAINABILITY REPORT | 10

EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLANNING

Emergency response planning at Tamarack is essential to protecting the public, our people, and our assets. Each year, Tamarack undergoes a vigorous process to examine our corporate assets and ensure emergency response resources are available in various situations. Using the hierarchical Incident Command System© ("ICS") Tamarack can quickly respond, adapt, and work with governing agencies to handle emergencies.

As part of our emergency preparedness planning, Tamarack focuses on training and drill exercises to ensure that our personnel are equipped to handle emergency situations. Personnel are trained in ICS protocols, and emergency exercises occur annually throughout each business area in both capital and production operations.

INCIDENT REPORTING

While our primary goal at Tamarack is incident prevention, we recognize the importance of proper incident reporting to prevent future recurrence. Tamarack has implemented an incident reporting system where incidents can be reported, and immediate actions can be taken to correct the situation. Additionally, incidents are trended monthly and reviewed at safety meetings to ensure that learnings are shared corporately.
