The results matched Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of six analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was also for a loss of 11 cents per share.
The battery maker posted revenue of $2.3 million in the period, which beat Street forecasts. Six analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $1.7 million.
In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, the company's shares hit $2.22. A year ago, they were trading at $8.90.
