Export inspections of U.S. corn fell back for the week ended May 9, although full-year shipments remain well above the pace of last year.

According to the latest U.S. Grain Export Inspections report from the Department of Agriculture, corn export inspections totaled 937,729 metric tons. That's down from 1.3 million tons reported the previous week. Corn remains ahead of shipments for the full year versus last year, according to the USDA--with sales totaling 33.93 million tons in the current marketing year, versus 26.05 million tons at this time last year.

Soybeans and wheat were ahead of the previous week's pace, with soybeans totaling 406,052 tons and wheat at 366,339 tons. Both remain behind for the full marketing year pace.

China was the leading destination for wheat for the week, while Mexico was the top destination for corn and Egypt led the way for soybeans.

Grains on the Chicago Board of Trade are higher in trading on Monday, with corn up 0.7%, soybeans up 0.3%, and wheat up 2.3%.
