On January 29, 2014, the Board of Directors of The Macerich Company increased the number of directors to eleven and elected Steven Soboroff to serve as a director until the next annual meeting of stockholders and until his successor is duly elected and qualifies. Soboroff is the President of the Los Angeles Police Commission and has served in that position since his appointment to the Board of Police Commissioners by Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti in August of 2013.
