Today, the Volvo Ocean Race organizers announced the first port of destination in the 2014-2015 stopover schedule - Recife, Brazil's fifth-largest city located on the Atlantic Ocean in the Northeastern part of the country.

The race will start from Alicante, Spain, with the Recife stopover scheduled for mid to late October 2014. This is exciting news for SCA as Brazil is one of the company's important growth markets. SCA is second in the Brazilian incontinence care market with the brands TENA and Biofral.

Brazil is the most highly populated country in South America, with a population of about 194 million and good economic growth. The market for hygiene products has a strong growth potential, especially incontinence care products which have shown double-digit growth.

The Volvo Ocean Race is the world's most prestigious offshore race. The event is a nine-month marathon of the seas, passing through four oceans (Atlantic, Indian, Pacific, and Southern Oceans) and five continents (Africa, Asia, Europe, North America and South America).  SCA will participate in the race with an all-female crew.

Full details of the 2014-2015 stopover schedule will be announced over the coming weeks.
