Acquisition enhances skilled focus on occupational medicine for employers in the market
ADDISON, Texas -Concentra announced today it has expanded its customer base and reach with an asset purchase of SSM WorkHealth in St. Louis, MO., which operates two occupational medicine centers in the area.
Concentra has consolidated SSM WorkHealth's existing operations into its three medical center locations in Hazelwood, St. Charles, and St. Louis, respectively. To build on long-standing relationships developed in the St. Louis market, many of WorkHealth's medical support staff, non- medical personnel, and physicians have been retained by Concentra.
"This is an excellent opportunity to grow our national footprint and further support the delivery of exceptional medical care to the St. Louis market," said Concentra Chief Executive Officer Keith Newton. "SSM WorkHealth has a proven record of service to the community, providing comprehensive medical treatment to employers and their employees. The acquisition supports Concentra's extensive client base in St. Louis and reinforces the company's commitment to improving the health of America's workforce, one patient at a time. The transaction also represents the latest example of collaboration between Concentra and its majority owner, Select Medical, which has a successful partnership with SSM in St. Louis. Financial details of the acquisition were not released.
