Safran announces that it has entered into exclusive discussions with a view to acquiring 100% of the capital of Preligens, a leader in artificial intelligence (AI) dedicated to the aerospace and defense industries, for an estimated enterprise value of 220 million euros.

Founded in 2016 and based in France, Preligens generated sales of 28 million euros last year and employs 220 people, including 140 engineers for the Research & Development division.

"This acquisition would represent a unique opportunity for Safran to add state-of-the-art AI capabilities to its offering, while accelerating the roadmap of its digital transformation, in particular that applied to Industry 4.0," explains the group.

The transaction is subject to the usual regulatory approvals, as well as to information and consultation procedures with Preligens' employee representatives. Completion is expected in the third quarter of 2024.
