PIMCO High Income Fund Reports Results for the Third Quarter and Nine Months Ended December 31, 2013

PIMCO High Income Fund announced its earnings results for the third quarter and nine months ended December 31, 2013. For the quarter, the company reported net investment income of $32,394,121 or $0.26 per share compared to $32,366,031 or $0.27 per share a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized gain was $4,220,539 or $0.05 per share compared to net realized and change in unrealized gain of $31,182,426 or $0.26 per share a year ago. Net asset value per share as at December 31, 2013 was $7.98 compared to $8.47 a year ago.
For the nine months, the company reported net investment income of $70,465,624 or $0.57 per share compared to $85,363,239 or $0.70 per share a year ago. Net realized and change in unrealized loss was $20,223,460 or $0.14 per share compared to net realized and change in unrealized gain of $119,500,294 or $1.00 per share a year ago.

The Fund seeks to achieve its investment objectives by utilizing a dynamic asset allocation strategy among multiple fixed income sectors in the global credit markets, which include corporate debt, such as fixed-, variable- and floating-rate bonds, bank loans, convertible securities and stressed debt securities issued by United States (US) or foreign (non-US) corporations or other business entities, including emerging market issuers; mortgage-related and other asset-backed securities; government and sovereign debt; taxable municipal bonds, and other securities, including emerging of the issuer's credit characteristics, forecast for interest rates and outlook for particular countries/regions, currencies, industries, sectors and the global economy and bond markets generally.
