PGS : MultiClient Data Coverage for New Zealand Exploration

The Taranaki Basin is the only producing petroleum basin in New Zealand. PGS completed a contiguous regional 3D data product in 2016, complemented by high-quality GeoStreamer 3D datasets for broadband insights with Taranaki South (2016) and Taranaki West (2017).

"Natural gas is critical to keeping our lights on and our economy running, especially during peak electricity demand and when generation dips because of more intermittent sources like wind, solar and hydro," revealed New Zealand's Resources Minister earlier this week as he announced plans for renewed exploration efforts.

PGS ASA specializes in providing geophysical services and in the production of oil and gas. Net sales break down by activity as follows: - geophysical services (59.6%): acquisition, processing and marketing non-exclusive seismic data to oil and gas companies for prospecting and developing reserves, as well as the management of production fields; - seismic data acquisition services under exclusive contracts (36.9%); - seismic data processing and interpretation services (3.3%). The group also offers services enabling companies to improve their knowledge of the structure and monitoring of their reserves; - other (0.2%).
