The European Commission has approved IBM's acquisition of sole control of SAG Integration US.

The transaction mainly concerns the supply of enterprise middleware.

The Commission concluded that the notified transaction would not raise competition concerns, given its limited impact on competition in the markets in which the companies are both active, as there is a sufficient number of alternative players.

In addition, the Commission considered that the merged entity would not have the ability to engage in a foreclosure strategy.
