Dong Nai Port : PDN - Promising a Potential Future!

PDN port system includes 2 areas: Long Binh Tan Port and Go Dau Port with total area of 72,7ha. PDN is not only a strategic location such as nearly the large seaports in HCM City and the deep-sea ports on the Thi Vai River - Cai Mep in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, but also the traffic hub of the southern key economic region.
PDN has particularly concentrated on infrastructure and equipment investments serving port's operation. At Long Binh Tan Port, PDN has invested and fully operated the capacity of the wharves and equipments, including 02 40-ton-Liebherr cranes, 29.5m- reach; 01 40-ton- Macgregor crane, 30m-reach in order to operate container services and general cargoes. Particularly in Go Dau Port area, PDN officially received 32.279 DWT Lowlands Sky Vessel with the length of 177,3m carrying 21.000 tons of coal imported from Indonesia. The receiving of over 30.000 DWT Vessel in Go Dau Port has marked PDN's success in capturing timely customer trends and markets.
In the year 2016, to identify several challenges that must be overcome, PDN has changed from 'Selling the current services' to 'Selling the services needed by customers'. Initially, it brings back the impression and attraction from new customers as well as retains all existing customers, promising a potential future and improving the efficiency of operations. Estimated results of 2016: general cargo' output reached 4,7 million tons; container services operation output reached 382.000 teus. The total revenue was about 412 billion dong, increasing 28% compared with the same period of last year.
Currently, PDN has expanded the infrastructure and invested equipments to improve its operation capacity. Additionally, PDN has also concentrated on exploit new cargo sources in Nhon Trach, Long Thanh and the adjacent Industrial Zones. In future, PDN strives to become the logistics hub for the Eastern Southern Provinces. After the year of 2018, all the seaports and ICDs located in HCM City will be moved away from the current locations. To take advantage of this opportunity, PDN will strengthen internal resources to embrace the opportunities, overcome challenges aimed at bringing back good brand and services for the social and PDN's customers.
