BAE Systems plc has filed a notice saying that it could lay off up to 170 employees at one of its Hawaii units due to the loss of its U.S. Army contract to a smaller company. About 174 people work at Schofield Barracks on Oahu and the training center. Some of those employees are subject to a collective bargaining agreement.

The unit provides logistic support services for the Army, including supply, maintenance and transportation.
