W. Michael Bliss

As Director of Managed Accounts and part equity owner of Westport Resources Managements, Inc., Mr. Bliss provides financial planning and discretionary portfolio managements to clients who include high wealth families, individuals and businesses with a range of risk tolerances and financial goals.
Mr. Bliss’s stated investment philosophy is one of “value.” Mr. Bliss has been affiliated with Westport Resources Management, Inc. since 1986, first as an investment advisor agent, and since 1987 as a portfolio manager.
In 1994 he became Director of Managed Accounts for Westport Resources Management, Inc., and in January 2001 Mr. Bliss assumed part equity ownership, along with President and CEO John Adams Vaccaro, of that firm.
Prior to his affiliation with Westport Resources Mr. Bliss was a grain and commodities trader for the Louis Dreyfus Corporation, one of the nation’s largest grain export, energy and real estate investment companies.
In 1984 he founded W.
Michael Bliss Investment Management.
He also researched and wrote for a nationally published stock newsletter.
Mr. Bliss served as an assistant professor of finance at Western Connecticut State College in Danbury, Conn.
from 1984-1990, where he taught graduate and undergraduate courses in finance, money and banking, and investment analysis.
His academic experience in these areas continues to serve his clients well, as he applies his sophisticated knowledge of the global economy and macroeconomics to the investment strategies he pursues on their behalf.
