Lala Steyn

Ms. Lala Steyn is a Head of Schools Investment Fund at Old Mutual Alternative Investments (Pty) Ltd.
She joined Old Mutual Investment Group in June 2010.
She has over 20 years of experience in South Africa and other African countries on management and implementation of development programmes in various sectors.
Her first job was as an English second language teacher in a township school in the 1980s.
In the mid-1980s and early 1990s she worked in the NGO sector against forced removals and on land and housing issues.
In 1995, Ms. Steyn joined the Mandela government as a Senior Manager for the National Department of Land Affairs.
Thereafter, she worked as a Sustainable Development Consultant.
Ms. Steyn holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree and an MBA.
