Ali Soner Guney

Guney is Fixed Income Fund Manager at National Bank of Abu Dhabi-Asset Management Group.
Mr. Guney joined NBAD Asset Management in 2008 and is responsible for managing conventional and Shari’a compliant mandates within the Fixed Income team.
He has 12 years of experience built in both sell and buy side within the financial services industry.
Prior to joining NBAD Asset Management, he worked at Drake Management, a USD 12 billion global macro strategy hedge fund with head quarters in New York.
Within a team of two, he was responsible for identifying rewarding credit and equity investment opportunities across MENA, Eastern Europe and Turkey.
Before joining Drake, Mr. Guney headed the research team at YF Securities as an energy & telecom analyst where he provided institutional investors with investment ideas across all sectors in Turkey.
He started his career at Morgan Stanley where he grew to become a lead analyst covering Turkish industrial companies within the EMEA team in London, between 1999 and 2002.
Mr. Guney graduated from Istanbul Technical University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and holds an MBA with a concentration on finance from Cambridge University, UK.
He is a securities representative with the SFA in the UK and holds advance level CMB certificate in Turkey.
He is also a holder of the Islamic Finance Qualification.
