TEMPE, Ariz., and PRAGUE, Czech Republic, May 16, 2024 - Gen™ (NASDAQ: GEN), a global leader dedicated to powering Digital Freedom, has announced its pledge to the European Commission's Cybersecurity Skills Academy within theDigital Skills and Jobs Platformaimed at addressing the critical shortage of cybersecurity professionals. Gen will partner with Women4Cyber, a nonprofit foundation supportingthe participation of women in cybersecurity, to provide free mentorship to women across Europe in an effort tohelp grow their careers in cybersecurity.

The size of the global cybersecurity workforce is anestimated 5.5 millionpeople,with the need for another 4 million professionals*. Additionally, only 22% of the current cybersecurity workforce iswomen*. Gen will support programsliketheWomen4Cyber MentorshipProgramme, where women mentees are paired with cybersecurity professionals to help develop and refine their technical skillswhile also providingcareer guidance and networking opportunities.

Since then, over 700Europeanwomen have participatedin their mentorship programs, many of them mentored directly by Gen team members, with hundreds of more attending other Women4Cyber events, webinarsand the annual W4C Conference. Genhas also partneredwith other organizationstosupport women in tech, including Czechitas in the Czech Republic andthe nasscomfoundationin India.
