KUALA LUMPUR, May 17 (Reuters) - Malaysia's current account surplus widened to 16.2 billion ringgit ($3.46 billion) in the first quarter of 2024 from a revised 900 million ringgit in the final three months of last year, central bank and government data showed on Friday.

Portfolio investment saw a net outflow of 23.7 billion ringgit in the January to March period, compared to a revised net outflow of 6 billion ringgit in the previous quarter.
