Wells Fargo has hired Block executive Jason Rosenberg to run the bank's sprawling public-affairs group.

Wells Fargo on Wednesday said Rosenberg, who has served as head of corporate affairs for payments company Block since 2022 after a decade at JPMorgan Chase, is joining the San Francisco company as head of public affairs on April 15 and will also serve on its operating committee.

Rosenberg succeeds William Daley, who retired as head of public affairs last year but returned to the post after his original successor, Thomas Nides, resigned to return his attention to events in the Middle East following the Hamas attack on Israel.

Nides joined Wells Fargo as vice chairman after retiring last year as U.S. Ambassador to Israel, a post he had held since 2021.

Daley, a former chief of staff to former President Barack Obama, joined Wells Fargo in 2019 as vice chairman of the newly created public-affairs group.
