Kia announces April 2024 global sales results

Kia Corporation today announced total global sales for April 2024 of 261,022 units, a 0.6 percent increase year over year.

Excluding special purpose vehicles, outside of Korea sales were up 1.6 percent compared with the same period in 2023, to 213,081 units. In the Korean market, Kia recorded sales of 47,505 units, a 3.2 percent decrease year over year.

Kia SUV models led the company's sales, with the Sportage SUV selling 49,077 units globally in April. The Seltos and Sorento SUVs backed up this strong market performance, with the Seltos SUV recording global sales of 29,014 units. The Sorento SUV sold 22,889 units globally.

Sales outside of Korea

Outside of Korea, Kia sales increased by 1.6 percent compared with the same month last year, to 213,081 units.

The Sportage SUV led the brand's momentum in markets outside of Korea with 41,898 sales. It was followed by the Seltos SUV, which sold 23,989 units, and the K3 (also known as Forte in some markets), with sales of 20,959 units.

Korea sales

In April, Kia sold 47,505 units in the Korean market, a 3.2 percent decrease compared with the same period last year.

The Sorento SUV led the company's passenger vehicle sales in its home market, recording 7,865 sales. The Sportage SUV and Carnival MPV followed, with 7,179 and 6,879 units respectively.

Kiawill continue its sales growth in major markets through its highly appealing products, including the all-electricKia EV9 three-row SUV - recently named World Car of the Year and World Electric Vehicle at the 2024 World Car Awards.

The company will also continue to build its sales momentum with the launch of the new all-electric EV3 and new EV6 model in the second half of 2024.
