Alerion accelerates growth in the wind sector in Romania:

  • Two wind farms authorised with a total installable capacity of approximately 220 MW
  • First two plants in a project including three wind farms, with a total capacity of about 336 MW
  • Design started for construction of 400 kV substation

Milan, 13 May 2024 - Alerion Clean Power S.p.A., through its indirect subsidiaries Vulturu Power Park S.r.l. and Vulturu Wind Farm S.r.l., obtained authorisations for the construction of two wind farms, of 114 MW and 108 MW respectively, in the municipalities of Crucea, Saraiu and Vulturu, in the Dobrogea region of Romania. These two installations are part of a project including three adjacent wind farms, with a total capacity of about 336 MW, and authorisation for the construction of the third wind farm is expected to be obtained by the end of 2024.

After obtaining the permits for the construction of the two wind farms, the companies began the executive design of the production plants and the executive design of the 400/110 kV network station, with the relative connections, which will service the connection of the plants and will allow the electricity grid of the entire region to be upgraded.

It is estimated that the wind farms will enter into production in 2027.

The expected production at full capacity of the entire wind power project (including the three wind firms) is estimated at approximately 1,100 GWh per year, with an expected annual gross operating margin (EBITDA) when fully operational of approximately €85 million.
