Barely ten companies dominate the food and beverage market. Nestlé, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Unilever, Danone, General Mills, Kellogg's, Mars, Associated British Foods and Mondelez are the largest producers in the world.Each of these ten companies has thousands of employees. Annually, companies like these make billions of dollars. Oxfam created a dizzying infographic showing how these brands are connected. In any case, it's something you don't think about as a customer. We list the producers and you will sometimes be surprised when you see what they produce.

1. Kellogg's

You know this brand from breakfast cereals like Froot Loops, but Kellogg's also owns other things like Pringles, Eggo and Cheez-It.

2. Associated British Foods

This British company makes a lot of products that we can also buy here. Twinings Tea, for example, but Associated British Foods also owns the well-known retailer Primark.

3. General Mills

General Mills is best known for brands such as Haagen-Dazs and Yoplait. But breakfast cereals such as Cheerios and Chex are also made by this producer.

4. Danone

Danone obviously needs no introduction. You know them from yogurts like Activa and Oikos. But they also make medical foods and bottled water.

5. Mondelez

Mondelez's best-known product is of course Oreo, the cookies that are extremely popular. But also chewing gum such as Trident and Stimorol are produced by Mondelez. And another well-known product of this company is Toblerone.

Very diverse foods at Mars. The best known, of course, are candies like M&Ms and Snickers. But Uncle Ben's rice is also made by Mars. And then there are foods for animals: Whiskas, Sheba and Pedigree.

7. Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola has been making more than the famous drink from its name for some time. Other soft drinks, as well as tea, and recently in Japan the first alcoholic drink.

From Lipton Tea to Knorr and Becel ... Unilever's range of products is huge. And there is much more than just food and drink, as they also make Axe and shampoo. Because of the Brexit, Unilever moved its headquarters to the Netherlands.
